HAND ASSISTED LAPAROSCOPIC DONOR NEPHRECTOMY

Hand Assisted Laparoscopic Donor Nephrectomy started at Human Organ Transplant Center,  Bhaktapur, Nepal in collaboration with  two Transplant Surgeons Dr. Jiri Fronek and Dr. Libor Janousek from Prague (Czech Republic).  They did laparoscopic Donor Nephrectomy together with Nepali team - Transplant Surgeon Dr. Pukar C. Shrestha, Dr. Manish Shrestha and Dr. Deepak Singh and others.

This is another milestone in Kidney transplantation field as for donors it is less painful and quick recovery. Donors were discharged in a couple of days, whereas in conventional transplantation, donor surgery it used to take 5 days at least to recover and go home, which is a huge burden to family and hospital and country.
